The brief
Roudnitska's masterwork in the fruity-chypre lineage: he updated his own 1966 Eau Sauvage formula with overripe melon and peach lactones into a transparent feminine.
NameA coinage from 'Dior' suggesting kinship with the house's feminine line.
Why it mattered
- Pushed the use of hedione even further than Eau Sauvage, with overripe-fruit lactones suspended in the airy floral structure.
Footnotes
- Luca Turin has called Diorella 'arguably Roudnitska's finest creation', preferred even to Diorissimo or Femme.
The Curator's Note
Roudnitska's Eau Sauvage in a different dress, and arguably the better one.
