The brief
Built around the imagined scent of a black orchid combined with black truffle, lotus wood, bergamot and vanilla.
NameNamed after a rare black orchid Tom Ford had developed as the brand's signature flower while creative director at Yves Saint Laurent.
The flacon
Heavy black-glass flacon with deep vertical fluting, a gold-cord neck and a centered gold plaque pressed into the bottle face; launch campaign photographed by Irving Penn.
